Romania Playground Projects

Playground Construction in Romania

In 2020, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, the first project appeal enabled a playground to be built in Sighet at a home that looks after the needs of children with disabilities.

In 2022, another facility was created in the town of Comanesti to meet a similar situation of challenged children in a kindergarten that had been deprived of support and excluded from local investment.

Then in 2023, a third project was completed for Valea Seaca School in Pascani which didn't have any playground or outside facilities.

In 2024 for our fourth project, we again partnered with Habitat for Humanity, in conjunction with Brusturoasa, Bacau County in Romania. Here, the local council provided a piece of land in a central location for the project, providing a playground for the local low income community of around 2,400 inhabitants.

Dave PopeFlame Trust CEO Dave Pope (left) comments: “I am increasingly encouraged and blessed by what has been achieved in recent years with the construction of these four playground facilities in deprived communities in Romania.

Calin in Romania with Habitat Nov 2023“Steered by Calin Rezmuves (right), Flame’s Practical Assistant, the projects have enriched the lives of children and parents alike, and have made a profound statement about why we do what we do. All four projects were delivered on time and within budget, and have received national acclaim.

“On the completion of our most recent playground, the Mayor wrote: ‘Thanks to your kindness, we have been able to turn a long awaited dream into a wonderful and lasting reality. The newly built playground will offer children a proper space for recreation, development and social interaction, significantly enhancing the quality of life for the entire community’.

“Our heartfelt desire and aim is to continue delivering these life enhancing and community changing projects.”

Please consider whether these ongoing projects are something that you or your company, organisation, or church could support. A representative from Flame would happily explain in more detail, and even consider visiting with you.
