Maurice Project

Maurice Project 1
Maurice Project 2
The gift response in memory of Maurice took us completely by surprise … (O ye of little faith eh)? Consequently, not only was a sizeable gift made to the Playground initiative, but we were also able to transfer support to an adjacent charity here in the West Midlands, namely Provision House. The team there will take on the restoration of my brother’s classic car and use the process in the community to up-skill students and others in engineering and restoration.

The local college is making space for it in their brand new ‘state of the art’ facility, and it will be integrated into their training programme for the next two years – under the direction of close colleague, Nick Gainsford. Nick headed up our Trailblazer programme when I was with Saltmine, and is a great guy with vision and leadership skill.

This is unashamedly a project infused with the Christian ethos as you would expect. But, on Thursday evening April 10th, the project launch took place, and special guest Fuzz Townshend of TV’s Car SOS fame made a guest appearance.  He is very well known to the ‘petrol head’ community, and over 100 people were in attendance.
