Romania Project 3 - Pascani

NEW PLAYGROUND PROJECT in ROMANIA

Full information and details on how you can support the project are here.

In 2020, a playground was built in Sighet at a home that looks after the needs of children with disabilities, and in 2022, another facility was created in the town of Comanesti to meet a similar situation of challenged children  in a kindergarten that had been deprived of support and excluded from local investment.

These projects were directed and delivered by Calin Rezmuves, Flame’s Practical Assistant – originally raised in a Romanian orphanage.  Both projects were delivered on time and within budget, and both received national acclaim.

Another opportunity has presented itself at a VALEA SEACA SCHOOL in the town of PASCANI, 7 miles from the city of IASI. The school has over 350 children – 50 of whom are in the primary kindergarten, and there are more than 100 children in the junior school.  The school doesn’t have any playground or outside facilities – only an empty plot of land, and is located in a very poor and deprived community in a post industrial town with very limited economic opportunities.

The existing building is also very old and has not enjoyed any investment since its foundation in 1942.

Calin RezmuvesFLAME has agreed to engage with the delivery of a playground for this community.  Directed again by Calin Rezmuves (left), and in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, it has been agreed to use the same construction team that was so successful in the previous project.

It is hoped that construction will begin in late Autumn 2023 and the cost is likely to be approximately £16,000.  The empty plot of land will be used for the purpose of providing recreational facilities that will feature swings and other facilities, including rest areas and spaces for external therapy.
